LOGAN TWP. – Two people were killed in a head on crash on Heron Drive at 5:15 p.m. on July 8.
According to Logan Township Police, the preliminary investigation revealed that a 2010 Ford Taurus was travelling northbound on Heron Drive and attempted to pass another vehicle, crossing the centerline of the roadway. The Ford then struck a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu head on.
The driver of the Chevrolet, a 27-year-old female from Philadelphia and the driver of the Ford, a 22-year-old female from Darby, PA, were both pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other occupants in either vehicle.
Logan Township Police were also assisted by Logan Township Fire Department, Gloucester County EMS, and Inspira Mobile Intensive Care Units. The roadway was reopened at 9 p.m.
The incident remains under investigation.
