Thanks to YOU, the King’s Things Holiday Food Program is on

SWEDESBORO – After fears of not being able to get enough volunteers to hold their annual Holiday Food Drive this year, enough people have stepped forward, despite COVID fears, to help make sure those in need of food and a few gifts will be able to celebrate a holiday this year.

In an October meeting held by King’s Things, 12 volunteers offered their services.

For those in need of food and gifts this year, applications will be mailed to past year recipients. Applications will also be available at the Thrift Store located at 1402 King’s Highway, Swedesboro, NJ on and after Nov. 2. Applications along with supporting documents must be returned no later than Nov. 16.

Although there is a great deal of energy, as witnessed by the turn out of volunteers, COVID precautions are being taken. Masks, gloves, and social distancing will be the rule.

The schedule for the program is as follows:

Dec. 14: Sorting and inventory, 6 p.m., St. Joe’s Hall, Broad St., Swedesboro

Dec. 15: Purchasing missing items and fruit

Dec. 16: Packing, 6 p.m., St. Joe’s Hall

Dec. 17: Gift sorting, 6 p.m., St. Joe’s Hall

Dec. 18: Turkey pickup

Dec. 19: Distribution/ Pickup

This year like last year, King’s Things has teamed up with the Acme Market in Logan Township to collect funds for complete Thanksgiving dinners.
