EG Police Win $5,000 SJ Gas Grant

EAST GREENWICH – East Greenwich Township Police Chief Matthew Brenner announced that the East Greenwich Police Department has been named a 2021 First Responders Grant Program Winner.

The South Jersey Gas Company is providing a $5,000 contribution, which will go towards the addition of two new additional high definition cameras, to be deployed remotely throughout the township.

“Our municipal and remote camera program implemented over the last two years has been extremely successful, providing officers and investigators critical advanced technology in being able to serve and protect our residents and business owners at multiple critical locations throughout the Township,” stated Brenner. “The department, in collaboration with the governing body, has embraced the use of state-of-the-art technology in addressing public safety, and our camera program is one area where we do just that.”

Fire, EMS and police agencies serving local municipalities in the South Jersey Gas servicing areas were eligible to apply for this grant, with the intentions of providing critical support for first responder operations.
