S/W Parks & Recreation Upcoming Events: Egg Scramble, Daddy Daughter Dances & More

WOOLWICH — The Swedesboro-Woolwich Annual Egg Scramble is scheduled for Saturday, April 2 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This free event will be held at Locke Ave Park, Field B, behind the playground.

There will be various fun activities for the children. The Easter Bunny will be there posing for pictures offered by Perfect Day Photography (additional cost—but less than the mall!).

Don’t miss this fun family event sponsored by the Swedesboro-Woolwich Parks & Recreation and Fellowship Bible Church. The rain date is Sunday, April 3 from 1 to 3 p.m.

The big event of the year is happening soon! Residents of Swedesboro and Woolwich are invited to the 2022 Daddy Daughter Dances! The dances will be held on March 19at the Bridgeport Fire Hall

The Pre-K thru 2nd grade dance is from 4 to 6 p.m. The 3rd thru 6th grade dance is from 7 to 9 p.m. All parental/guardian figures are welcomed.

There is limited space. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Tickets will be sold on www.ticketleap.com. Further information will be posted on the Swedesboro-Woolwich Parks & Recreation Facebook page.

Special thanks to Joanna Papadaniil of Berkshire Hathaway, Fox & Roach Realtors for her donation of carnations for the daughters. Water, fruit, and sweet treats will be provided. Picture packages will be offered for sale by Perfect Day Photography. Please bring cash for the portraits.

The Township is selling discounted tickets to Adventure Aquarium in Camden. To purchase the tickets, please bring cash or a check to the Municipal Building Office. Adult tickets are $26.50 and child (age 2 to 12) tickets are $18.50. Tickets are valid any day of the week and are good until June 30, 2022.

Celebrate the start of Little League Baseball and Softball with a Pre-Opening Day Movie Night on Friday, April 8 in the Municipal Building at 7 p.m. We will be showing “The Sandlot”.

Please note the movie is rated PG. Water and popcorn will be provided. Bring a blanket if you want to sit on the floor. This is a free event sponsored by Swedesboro-Woolwich Little League.

Join us to celebrate the Grand Opening of the new Disc Golf Course at Tranquility Trails on April 23 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Free group lessons will be held during this time.

The Township is giving out free discs to the first 100 participants at the event. A competitive disc golf tournament, sponsored by the South Jersey Disc Golf Club, is also being planned for the weekend of June 11. More details to come.

Looking to introduce your child to the sport of golf? Plan to attend our golf clinics at Town & Country Golf Links in Woodstown.

We are offering the following clinics: a 4-Week Junior Clinic (45-minute sessions, $100 per student, which will start on April 30 from 11 to 11:45 a.m.), a 1-Day Junior Clinic (1-1/2 hour session, $50 per student, which will be held on April 23 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.), and a 1-Day Junior and Adult Clinic (2-hour session, $80 per family, which will be held on April 23 from 1 to 3 p.m.).

A junior child is at least 7 years old. To reserve your spot and register, please email Rich Crowell at Town & Country Golf Links at rcrowell@tcgolflinks.com. Your payment is due at the first session.

Save the date for Locke Avenue Fun Day! The event will be held Saturday, May 21 with an inclement weather date of Sunday, May 22.

The day starts with the 08085 Run sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Greater Swedesboro. The race times and link to sign up to participate in one of the many races is on the Kiwanis Club of Greater Swedesboro’s Facebook page.

Unlimited ride wristbands sale will be announced on our Facebook page. The event promises to offer entertainment for the entire family starting at 1 pm and culminating in a stellar fireworks display at 9 p.m. Vendors may obtain forms from www.woolwichtwp.org, Parks & Recreation page.

Swedesboro & Woolwich Parks & Recreation Committee is back in full planning mode to bring our residents activities throughout 2022! In order to plan events for our community, we need your help.
