Yarn Birds – Wednesday, May 18. There will be two classes to choose from – one at 2 p.m. and one at 6:30 p.m. Learn how to make a colorful bird using just yarn. Space and supplies are limited so you must register. Go to www.gcls.org to register.

ADULT VIRTUAL PROGRAMS:

Free Exercise Programs through Gloucester County:  A Virtual Presentation – Monday, May 23 – 3 p.m.   

The Gloucester County Department of Health seeks to maintain and enhance the healthy behaviors of our communities. Join Gloucester County Health Educators as they present participants with an overview of the county’s free exercise programs available to Gloucester County residents, including Tai Chi, Sunrise Chair Yoga, and the Step-by-Step Walking programs. This program will be presented via zoom. To register go to www.gcls.org.

Readers Roundtable 

Weekly on Thursday afternoons: Thursdays, May 5, 12, 19, & 26 – 4 p.m. Visit our website at www.gcls.org, click classes/events tab find these events and click on the link!  

Grab & Go Bags for adults once-a-month. Stop in to pick up a “Grab and Go Bag” – one per adult. Enjoy simple crafts you can do at home! Supplies are included. First come, first serve, while supplies last. We would love for you to snap a photo of your finished crafts and share with us on our instagram page (@gclibs).

FAMILY PROGRAM:

Springtime Yoga – all ages – Thursdays, 5, 12, 19, & 26 – 6:30 pm. Join us for some springtime yoga with Ms. Sheetal. Learn some new relaxing poses, meditation, and breathing exercises. Space is very limited so please register each adult and child. Bring your own mat or towel and water.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the same program so please only choose one of the days to come. Space is limited. Be sure to register each adult and child.

Build your own birdhouse – Tuesday, May 10 – 4:30 p.m. Limited supplies so be sure to register asap at www.gcls.org. Our thank you to Dave Fish for putting the kits together! Best suited for ages 9-12.

Toddler Music Time – “Sing, Dance, & Play” – Thursday, May 1210:30 a.m. We are back to one class with more openings. Space is very limited. Be sure to register each adult and child. Toddler Music Time will be the 2nd Thursday of each month. Go to www.gcls.org to register.

Baby Music Time – “Sing, Dance, & Play” – Thursday, May 26 – 10:30 a.m. We are back to one class. Space is very limited. Be sure to register each adult and child. Baby Music Time will be the 4th Thursday of each month. Go to www.gcls.org to register.

Homeschooler Fun! – Monday, May 9 – 3 p.m. We will meet the 2nd Monday of each month at 3 p.m. – at this time we will switch back and forth from STEM projects and Meet the Artist.  

In-Person Reading with FURever as Friends – Sign up to read to one of our adorable therapy animals. Each child will be given a 10 to 15-minute time slot. Find the dates on our virtual calendar and call the library you want to visit to schedule an appointment.

Literacy Buddies – Are you interested in having homework or reading help for your child? Is your teen interested in helping a child? We provide weekly one-on-one help. Call 856-467-0111 if interested. This program is currently virtual. 

CHILDREN’S TAKE HOME ACTIVITIES 

Take Home: Read and Do Bags! Patrons can check out one bag per child at the Swedesboro Library. Each bag will contain 2 to 3 library books, a coloring page, and a simple craft you can do with your child at home. Different themes will be available while supplies last. Please be sure to bring your bag to the circulation desk for checkout.

Grab and Go Bags for children – Stop in to pick up a “Grab and Go Bag” – one per child. Enjoy simple crafts you can do at home! There will be a new craft each week. Supplies are included. First-come, first-served, while supplies last.  

Storytime Kits – Once a month, pick up a storytime kit. Kits will include one free book, activities, and a craft. One per family while supplies last.

TEENS/TWEENS

Teen Writers’ Club – Monday, May 9 – 7 p.m. If you love writing, need new ideas, like sharing ideas/stories/poems, and/or learning new writing techniques and types of writing – this club is for you. We also have started a literary magazine that your works can be included in! Teen/Tween Book Club – Saturday, May 14 – 12:30 p.m. Join us for our monthly book club. This month we will be discussing Dive Smack by Demetra Brodsky. Selections were chosen by the past year’s teens. Go to www.gcls.org to register. Space will be limited.
