WOOLWICH TWP. – Republican Assemblywoman Beth Sawyer has filed to run for the Republican nomination for the New Jersey State Senate against incumbent Edward Durr in the state’s primary election to be held on June 6.
Durr was elected in 2022, defeating former president of the state senate, Stephen Sweeney. Durr had no prior elected political experience before running for State Senate in 2021.
Sawyer has been a member of the New Jersey General Assembly since 2022 and was member of the Woolwich Township Joint Land Use Board prior to that.
