NJ Makers Day Cardboard Extravaganza Saturday, March 16, 10:30-1:30.  Children and adults aged 4 to 104 are invited to drop in and use Makedo (fun and kid-safe cardboard tools) to help build a collaborative cardboard structure. Individual cardboard builds also encouraged.    

STEAM Club: Thursday, March 21 at 7 p.m. Get ready for the total solar eclipse happening in April. Attendees will receive a pair of eclipse glasses. Ages 6 to 12. Please register. 

Build It!: Monday, March 25 at 4 p.m. Each month we’ll have a new building challenge with LEGOS, Magnatiles, wooden blocks, and more! Ages 4 to 12. 

Adult Programs:

Knit & Crochet Club: Tuesdays from 1-3 p.m.Learn to knit or crochet (instruction and materials provided). Get help or inspiration for your current or next project. All skill levels welcome.  

Monday Night Needlers: Monday March 11 and 25, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Bring your fiber arts project or learn to knit, crochet, cross-stitch, etc. Beginners and experienced crafters welcome.

Computer Class: Internet Basics: Thursdays, March 7 to April 4, 2-4 p.m. Do you feel a little lost or left behind when it comes to the internet? This 5 week series will build your knowledge and your confidence. You will learn to use a browser to get what you need from a website, search

FURever As Friends Reading Program: Tuesdays, March 5 and 19 at 6:30 p.m. A group of volunteers bring their specially trained therapy dogs to the library for children to read. All ages. Registration and one-time permission slip required.

Teen Wellness Program: Friday, March 1 at 4 p.m. For teens by teens! Join teen presenter Mahalakshmi Mopal for an eight week wellness program. Topics include healthy habits, Movement, sleep, and stress management. Please register in advance.

Family Lego Night: Thursday, March 7 at 6:30 p.m. Make incredible creations with family and friends and conquer our brick-building challenges! All ages. Please register.

Big Kid Storytime: Thursdays, March 14 and 28 at 4:30 p.m. Calling all first and second graders! Enjoy a story time just for you! Each month we will read books, sing silly songs, and create crafts. Ages 6-8. Please register.

Tween Make & Take: Thursday, March 21 at 4:30 p.m. Learn to make something new with Miss Katelyn! Beginners projects and fun crafts that you can bring home. A different project each month. Ages 9 to 12. Please register.

Craft & Conquer: A NJ Makers Day Adventure!: Saturday, March 16 at 10:30 a.m. Celebrate NJ Makers Day with miniature painting and adventuring. Take home your very own D&D character and more! Something for all ages. Please register, as some supplies are limited. Sponsored by New Jersey Makers Day.

Homeschool Steam Club: Monday, March 25 at 2 p.m. Fun experiments, crafts, and activities exploring STEAM concepts. Ages 6 to 8. Please register.

Best Sellers Book Club: Wednesday, March 6 at 7 p.m. A discussion of the book All That Is Mine I Carry With Me by William Landay. Attendance is in-person or virtually.  

Socrates Café: Thursdays, March 7, 14, 21, and 28 at 10:30 a.m. Join us as we pose questions and exchange our thoughts on subjects selected by the group. No formal education in philosophy is needed, just a questioning mind. Attendance is in-person or virtually.

Board and Card Games: Thursdays, March 7, 14, 21, and 28 at 1 p.m. Have a fun time playing board games. A variety of games are played each week.

Knit & Crochet Club: Thursdays, March 7, 14, 21, and 28 at 1 p.m. Beginners are always welcome and provided with instruction along with the supplies needed to get started. Bring something you are working on or something you would like to discuss.

Gaming Get-Together: Fridays, March 1, 8, 15, and 22 at 1 p.m. Get together and play a game with other novices at the library! There is a different game highlighted every week. Please register, as we have limited sets.

Quilting & Sewing Club: Tuesdays, March 12, 26 at 1 p.m. Learn to quilt or sew! Beginners and experienced quilters are welcome, and experienced quilters are free to bring their project and quilt with some new friends.

History Book Club: Monday, March 11 at 7 p.m. The History Book Club will be held the 2nd Monday of each month at 7 p.m. Please stop by the circulation desk for this month’s selection.

Scrapbooking & Crafting: Wednesday, March 13 at 7 p.m. Instructor Sandi will show you the basics of scrapbooking and crafting. Please bring photos and embellishments; paper will be provided. Limit of 10 participants. Please register.

Chatterbox Monday: Monday, March 18 at 6 p.m. Come gather at the library for an evening of casual conversation: from tea to technology, favorite local businesses to global perspectives – let’s share stories, interests, and insights. Bring friends!

Special Olympics Young Athletes Program: Saturday, March 9 at 10: a.m. Special Olympics Young Athletes is a FREE, inclusive sports program for children ages 2 to 7. All children must participate with a parent or adult guardian. All participants must wear athletic shoes. Homeschool STEAM Club: Wednesday, March 20 at 12:30 p.m. Celebrate Women’s History Month by studying about Maria Merian, the woman who discovered metamorphosis through art. Limited supplies; please register. Ages 4 to 12.

Tween Library Lab:  Wednesday, March 20 at 4:30 p.m. We’ll learn how to use sunoculars, telescopes, and participate in science activities to learn about the solar eclipse. Ages 9 to 12, please register.

Robotics for Kids: Saturday, March 23 at 2 p.m. Introduction to Robotics led by the Clearview Robotics Team 9848 GearView! Kids will learn about robotics, 3D modeling, and building with mini activities. Mini activities include building Lego kits, programming and using code.org’s Hour of Code. This program is part of a series that will run until the summer! Ages 8 to 14, registration required.

Music and Movement: Wednesday, March 27 at 10:30 a.m. Sing, dance, and play with your little one. Ages 2 to 5. Please register.

Teen Craft: Snow Globe: Tuesday, March 12 at 6:30 p.m. We will be making a snow globe using jars, water, glitter, and little figurines. Ages 13 to 18, please register.

Teen Wellness Project: Wednesday, March 13 at 5 p.m. This week’s theme is Stress Management. Teens will practice mindfulness and meditation led by local teen Mahi Mopal.  Ages 13 to 18, please register.

Teen Book Club: Monday, March 25 at 6 p.m. A book club led by local teens. Title to be chosen at the previous meeting. Ages 13 to 18, please register.

Teen Chefs: Tuesday, March 26 at 6:30 p.m. Make your own pizza bagels. Ingredients include sauce, cheese, and plain bagels. Ages 13 to 18, please register.

Teen Wellness Project: Wednesday, March 27. This week’s theme is Staying Away from Toxins. The activity will be focused on detoxing from electronics and group discussion. Ages 13 to 18, please register.

Women’s Rights Presentation: Monday, March 4 at 6:30 p.m. Join GCLS and the NJ State Bar Association’s Speakers Bureau for a presentation on Women’s Rights in New Jersey. Speaker, Megan Knowlton Balne, will speak about the gender pay gap and how the legal system is fighting to eliminate inequities. Please register.  

Book Club: Tuesday, March 5 at 2 p.m. We will be discussing This Tender Land by William Kent Krueger. Everyone is welcome. Registration required.  

Genealogy Club: Tuesday, March 5 at 4 p.m. Come share your research, learn tips and strategies, and see what others have discovered about their pasts. No registration required. Beginners welcome. 

Writers’ Roundtable: Tuesdays, March 5 & 19 at 6:30 p.m. Writers of fiction and nonfiction are welcome to join and share their projects. Participants will be reading and discussing each other’s work. Drafts in all stages are welcome. Registration required. 

Author Visit Ann Elder: Wednesday, March 6 at 7 p.m. Come meet Ann Elder, author of Current of Silence and The Silence is Broken. Ms. Elder will share inspirations for her drama filled tales that take place in small town America. Ms. Elder will be selling and signing her books. Please register for this event.

Creative Aging Initiative – Senior Art Program: Fridays, March 8, 15, 22 & 29 at 1 p.m. Join us for an 8-week artist residency, where you explore techniques from different mediums. Classes are intended for seniors 55 years and older. Funding is provided by the Creative Aging Initiative grant from the NJ State Council on the Arts. 

Adult Craft Program, Harrison Township Senior Activity: Monday, March 11 at 1:30 p.m. All are welcome to join in this Harrison Township Senior Activity program. Craft to be determined. Seating is limited. Please register.

Women’s Health – How to Maintain Good Health During Pregnancy and Beyond: Tuesday, March 11 at 6:30 p.m. Join GCLS and certified birthing doula, Jordan Dizon, for an informational session about maintaining a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy and your postpartum journey. Please register.

The Time to Hear is Here: Wednesday, March 12 at 2 p.m. Meet Mr. Ron Gottardi, consultant, educator, researcher, and public speaker. He will discuss hearing problems in the senior population, why Medicare should cover hearing aid costs and new advances in hearing aid technology. Please register for this program. 

Classic Film Club: Wednesday, March 13 at 6:30 p.m. We will be screening the film A Hard Day’s Night starring the Beatles. Seating is limited. Please register. 

Workshop to Empower Women Through Financial Independence: Wednesday, March 13 at 7 p.m. Savvy Sisters Volunteer Organization will share how to develop financial independence regardless of your financial situation and your age. All women can benefit from learning new skills in budgeting and saving your earnings. Registration is required.

Jazz Duo Performance: Wednesday, March 20 at 7 p.m. Join us to hear the smooth sounds of Brian Betz and Behn Gillece in the main library.

Meditation and Sound Bath: Monday, March 25 at 6:30 p.m. Join us for a relaxing and restorative meditation and sound bath session. Please register.  

Archaeology and the Delaware Indians: Thursday, March 28 at 6:30 p.m. Join us as we welcome Dr. Richard Veit, Professor of Anthropology at Monmouth University, for a presentation on the lives of the Native Americans who resided in the Delaware Valley. This presentation can be attended in-person at the library or virtually over Zoom and is made possible by a grant from the New Jersey Council on the Humanities. Registration required.

Celebrate the Upcoming Eclipse:  Thursday, March 28 at 4 p.m. We will have different stations of activities, snacks, and each participant will receive a pair of eclipse glasses. 

Literacy Buddies: Are you interested in getting homework or reading help for your child? Is your teen interested in tutoring? The Margaret Dombrosky Swedesboro Public Library provides weekly one-on-one help.

Adult Programs

Leprechaun Pot of Gold:  Wednesday, March 6 at 2 p.m. & 6:30 p.m. Love Leprechauns, Love Gold, come to the library to make a craft that puts both together for St. Patrick’s Day.  Supplies and space limited.  Please register.

Needle Arts: Wednesdays, March 13 & 27 at 6:30 p.m. Crochet, knit, or sew your own project or select one of ours.
