April 1: Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on Rt. 322. While conducting the stop, it was determined that the driver was intoxicated. It was also learned that he was a wanted person from Bucks County, PA. As a result, the 41-year-old Philadelphia man was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence and being a Fugitive from Justice. He was processed and lodged in the Salem County Jail.
April 6: Officers attempted to stop a motor vehicle stop on Beckett Road. It was reported that the vehicle was stolen from Woolwich Township. When attempting to stop the vehicle, it fled the area to I-295. Following Attorney General Guidelines, officers terminated the pursuit when it reached the Commodore Barry Bridge. The vehicle and its driver were then apprehended in Virginia. Officers charged the 31-year-old Chester, PA man with Eluding. Service on this complaint is still pending.
April 7: Officers attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop on I-295 when the vehicle fled from police. After terminating the pursuit, officers conducted a follow-up investigation and learned the identity of the driver. As a result, officers charged the 21-year-old Williamstown man with Eluding. Service on this complaint is pending.
April 9: Officers responded to the Goodwill store on Beckett Road for a Burglary report. It was reported that sometime overnight, someone broke into the business and searched through bags and drawers. It is unknown at this time if anything was taken.
April 11: Officers responded to Lasership on Creekview Avenue for a Trespassing complaint. It was reported that a terminated employee, who was also advised not to return to the business, came back to the business and started acting in a disorderly manner. As a result, the 37-year-old Lawnside man was charged with Trespassing.
April 15: Detectives conducted a joint investigation with Groveport, Ohio police regarding a Theft occurring at Ontrac on Crossboards Boulevard. It was reported that the suspect was stealing gift cards and selling them. As a result, officers arrested and charged the 33-year-old Camden man with Theft and Fencing. He was processed and lodged in the Salem County Jail.
April 17: Officers took a report for Theft that occurred at Dacin Express on Center Square Road. It was reported that an employee refused to return a work vehicle after being terminated from employment. As a result, the 33-year-old Lindenwold man was charged on a summons with Theft.
April 20: Officers responded to the Target warehouse on Creekview Avenue for an Assault report. It was reported that after an employee dispute, one employee assaulted the other. As a result, officers charged 50-year-old New Castle, DE with Aggravated Assault. He was processed and lodged in the Salem County Jail.
April 22: Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on Rt. 130. While investigating the stop, it was learned that the driver and passenger both were wanted NCIC in Gloucester County and Salem County. While placing the driver under arrest, officers located suspected heroin. As a result, officers arrested and charged the driver, a 55-year-old Pedricktown woman with Possession of Heroin. The driver and the passenger, a 56-year-old Penns Grove man, were both lodged in the Salem County Jail due to their NCIC warrants.
April 23: Officers responded to the Acme on Center Square Road for a Shoplifting report that occurred on April 20. It was reported the suspect exited the store with approximately $267 worth of groceries without paying. Officers identified the suspect as a 44-year-old Logan Township woman and charged her with Shoplifting.
April 29: Officers responded to the Acme on Center Square Road for a Shoplifting report. It was reported that the suspect placed approximately $115 worth of items in a shopping cart and left the store without paying. After investigating, Officers charged the 43-year-old Pedricktown woman with Shoplifting.
