36th Annual Food Drive at Gibbstown Chiropractic Center is back

GIBBSTOWN — Dr. Blaise K. Glodowski of Gibbstown Chiropractic Center had to change his annual food drive priorly for the last four years because of Covid-19 and was only able to use his office as a food drop off site.

But so many people have asked his staff as well as himself if the food drive was still on.

There is such a need for food because so many people have lost their jobs and/or had their hours cut back, they desperately need food to help feed their families.

This year’s food drove will be even bigger and better than ever.

The Food Bank of South Jersey has once again teamed up with Dr. Glodowski. Not only will his office be a drop-off site from Nov.17 through Nov. 24, but a special event “Community Appreciation Day” will be held on Sat. Nov. 23.

There, Gibbstown Chiropractic will be providing health services at no charge in exchange for non-perishable food items.

Dr. Glodowski will offer all services including stress exams, life extension evaluations, nutrition and weight loss advice, physicals and x-rays (if needed).

Instead of payment, the food bank asks patrons to bring donations of non-perishable food items. The normal fees for medical services would normally range from $35-$450.

This year Glodowski will once again be helped by Staci Conrad, a massage therapist, and by Betty-Jo Zeno, a level 2 Reiki instructor who will be providing free massages and natural healing that day as well.

Inspira Healthcare will be doing blood pressure and blood glucose screenings also at no charge.

Each person who comes in will be eligible to win grand prizes and door prizes donated by area sponsors.

Glodowski said his personal goal was to donate $5,000 in services that day.

Last year his office collected well over 1,800 pounds of food from his event and all the food collected was distributed right back here in our area. He hopes to collect even more food or monetary donations this year as food banks because needs are at an all-time high.

During 2020, the Food Bank of South Jersey distributed more than 5.7 million additional meals than 2019.

Everyone is invited to attend but please call Gibbstown Chiropractic Center in advance for an appointment at (856) 423-3899.

The top 10 needs of food banks are: peanut butter and jelly, pasta, spaghetti sauce, pancake mix, syrup, cereal, canned meats, tuna, juice, and canned stews.
