EAST GREENWICH — DoItBig, a nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing aspiring actors and fostering a love for musical theatre, is thrilled to announce its 25th anniversary celebration.
Since its founding in 2000, the organization has been a cornerstone of the East Greenwich community, providing a vibrant platform for theatre enthusiasts to learn, grow, and share their passion for the arts.
Under the visionary creative direction of Mickleton resident, Leslie McManus, DoItBig has brought over 30 stunning productions, workshops, and benefit performances to life. From heartwarming classics to bold, innovative storytelling, the organization has enchanted audiences and cultivated talent for a quarter of a century.
Most recently, DoItBig delighted crowds with Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods and the timeless musical Annie. Currently, the company is rehearsing for its upcoming performance of Oliver scheduled for June 5 through June 7 at Rowan College of South Jersey Cumberland County Campus.
In recognition of its commitment to the arts, DoItBig was awarded a 2025 grant from the Gloucester County Cultural & Heritage Commission. This honor highlights the organization’s sustained efforts in enriching the cultural landscape of the region.
DoItBig is proud to have alumni who are living their dreams as performers on Broadway and in other prestigious theater companies. Others have established careers in technical roles, contributing behind the scenes to the magic of live theatre.
As part of its vision for the next 25 years, DoItBig has announced a new goal – to raise capital for the creation of its own dedicated theater venue in East Greenwich Township or nearby. This ambitious endeavor aims to provide a permanent home for the organization, enabling even more community engagement and opportunities for growth in the arts.
“We are honored to celebrate 25 years of creativity, learning, and community through musical theatre,” said Leslie McManus, Director of DoItBig. “This milestone is a testament to the passion and dedication of our performers, staff, and the wonderful East Greenwich community that has supported us every step of the way.”
As part of its yearlong celebration, DoItBig will host special events, reunions, and performances to highlight its rich history and the artists who have made it possible. Details will be announced in the coming weeks.
DoItBig invites the community to join in commemorating its legacy and shaping its future.
