WOOLWICH TWP. — On May 5, Woolwich Township Mayor Natalie Matthais administered the oath of office to newly appointed Woolwich Township Committeeperson Jackie Willams with her husband, Dale, holding the bible. Williams is filling a vacancy created by the resignation of Committeeman Francis McGovern Jr.
Williams has served as a volunteer on the Swedesboro Woolwich Parks and Recreation Committee for 15 years and as president for the past four years. Williams will hold the position until the general election in November, when there will be a position on the ballot to complete the unexpired term.
“On behalf of the Committee and the entire Woolwich Township community, I wish to express our sincere gratitude to Fran for his dedicated service. Since joining the Committee, Fran has been a committed advocate for public safety, fiscal responsibility, and open communication between the government and residents. His leadership and volunteerism, both with our parks and recreation and youth sports programs, have made a positive impact on our township,” said Matthais.
