Identifying & Preventing Financial Elder Abuse: Thursday, July 24 at 2 p.m. Join us as we welcome Patricia Troy from the Forensic Accounting Office of the Philadelphia FBI for a presentation on Elder fraud. Elder fraud is defined as a financial fraud scheme which targets seniors (60 years and older). Ned Hector, Continental Soldier: Wednesday, July 30 at 2 p.m. Join us for a visit from Re-enactor, Noah Lewis, who will be portraying Ned Hector, a Continental Soldier who fought in the Battle of Brandywine during the American Revolution and was held in such high regard by his community that they named a street after him in the mid 1850’s. Lewis has been portraying “Ned Hector” since 2000 and has presented at the Museum of the American Revolution, Gloucester County Historical Society and numerous venues. Author Visit – Michael C. Harris: Thursday, July 31 at 7 p.m. Author and historian Michael C. Harris who has written three books in the Philadelphia Campaign Series on the American Revolution, will be appearing at GCLS for an author visit. The first book in Michael’s Philadelphia Campaign Series is the bestseller Brandywine: A Military History of the Battle that Lost Philadelphia but Saved America, September 11, 1777. It was also a finalist for the Army Historical Foundation Distinguished Book Award. The second book in the series, also a bestseller, is Germantown: A Military History of the Battle for Philadelphia, October 4, 1777, comprising a comprehensive study of the Battle of Germantown, one of the largest engagements of the American Revolutionary War. This book offers a detailed examination of the battle, its strategic context, and the events leading up to and following it, including the British occupation of Philadelphia. July Challenges: Scavenger Hunt – find all the summer-related pictures and get a prize.
Story Time: Tuesdays, July 8, 15, 22, & 29 at 10:30 a.m. Stories, songs, and crafts. Ages 2 to 5. Please register for only one session per week.

Teen Movie/Film Club: Thursday, July 3 from 4-6 p.m. Come enjoy a relaxing movie or create a skit that could go towards a future fun film project. Ages 12 to 17. Registration not required but is encouraged.
FURever as Friends: Mondays, July 7 & 21 at 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Library. Sign up to read to one of our adorable therapy animals. Each child will be given a 10-15 minute time slot. All ages.
Lego League: Tuesday, July 8 at 4 p.m. Ages 4 to 12. Build what you like or try our monthly creation challenge. Please register.
Teen Anime Club: Tuesday, July 8 at 6:30 p.m. Ages 13 to 17. Enjoy Anime and Manga with other like-minded fans.
Toddler Music & Movement: Thursday, July 10 at 10:30 a.m. Ages 2 to 5. Fingerplays, dancing, marching, singing and instruments.
Make a Colorful Bracelet: Thursday, July 10 at 3 p.m. Ages 9 to 12. Make a colorful bracelet out of embroidery floss. Limited space so be sure to register.
Colorful Parade: Friday, July 11 at 10:30 a.m. Ages 2 to 6. To go with our Summer Reading theme, “Color Your World,” we are having a colorful parade. Each child should wear their most colorful clothes. We will march around downstairs and upstairs with instruments. Each child will receive a participation certificate. Be sure to register each child.
Center for Aquatic Sciences: Monday, July 14 at 2 p.m. Best for ages 6 to 12. Join us for the Center for Aquatic Sciences as they bring some animals to fit our “Color Your World” Summer Reading theme. The Center for Aquatic Sciences always provides entertaining, educational, and informative shows. Be sure to register as space is limited.
Teen Gaming: Tuesday, July 15 at6:30 p.m. Play video games, board games, card games, and make some new friends. Call 856-467-0111 for more information.

Stuff & Paint Your Own Bear: Thursday, July 17 at 2 p.m. Ages 6 to 12. Come and make your own stuffed bear. Not only do you stuff him – you paint him. Your kids will have a blast. There is only space for 15 students so be sure to register.
Splatter Painting: Monday, July 21 at 2 p.m. Join us for a fun time of splatter painting. You will be completely covered and go inside a tent. You will come out with one 8 X 10 canvas that you splatter painted. This program will be done by the Mullica Hill Art Center. The tent will be in our back parking lot. Each child painting needs to be registered. Even though your child will be covered, consider wearing old clothes.
Baby Music: Thursday, July 24 at 10:30 a.m. Ages 1 month to 2 years. Dance, sing, and move along with your little one. Register at www.gcls.org.
Paper Mosaic Craft: Thursday, July 24 at 4 p.m. Ages 6-12. Color Our World with your own colorful paper mosaic craft. There will be sample patterns or create your own. Be sure to register as space is limited.
Thinking Money for Kids: Friday, July 25 at 2 p.m. Join us for our Thinking Money for Kids – This is a grant received from ALA (American Library Association) and FINRA (Investor Education Foundation). Children will play games that teach money skills and engage them with financial topics like saving, spending, sharing, and budgeting in a way that is both meaningful and fun. Be sure to register. Best suited for ages 6 to 12.
Make a Tie-dyed T-shirt: Monday, July 28 at 7 p.m. Ages 6 to 12. Come make a tie-dyed t-shirt. Supplies are limited so you must be registered. T-shirts are provided but feel free to bring your own. It’s a messy project, consider wearing old clothes.
Teen Safe Space: Thursday, July 31 at 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. This is an all-inclusive club where Teens can come to talk about things that have been on their mind. Note that we have a strict policy regarding inclusivity and there will be zero tolerance for any discrimination against one another. Registration is not required but encouraged.
Digger & Dave Magic Show: Thursday, July 31 at 7 p.m. Celebrate the end of Summer Reading with Digger and David. He’ll be performing “The Magic Pot.” This event will be held at the Trinity Social Hall, 1202 Kings Highway, Swedesboro. Be sure to register each attendee, all ages welcome.
Literacy Buddies: Are you interested in getting homework or reading help for your child? Is your teen interested in tutoring? The Margaret Dombrosky Swedesboro Public Library provides weekly one-on-one help. Call 856-467-0111 if interested.
Take-Home Activities:
Read and Do Bags: Limited to one per child, each bag contains 2 to 3 library books, a coloring page, and a simple craft you can do with your child at home. Different themes are available while supplies last. Please bring your bag to the circulation desk for checkout.
Grab and Go Kits for Children: Limited to one per child, each bag includes simple crafts you can do at home. There will be two new crafts per month. First-come, first-served, while supplies last.
Adult Programs:
Craft Buffet: Wednesday, July 9 at 2 p.m. Choose any craft project or create your own. All materials will be provided. Space is limited, registration is required.
Christmas in July Craft: Wednesday, July 23 at 6:30 p.m. Channel your holiday spirit to craft a Christmas Wreath. Space is limited, registration is required.
