East Greenwich Senior Resource Fair Successful

EAST GREENWICH — On Saturday, April 18, the East Greenwich Senior Committee held the first Senior Resource Fair at the Evangelical United Methodist Church.

There were over 25 vendors at the fair including our East Greenwich police, fire, and EMT services, East Greenwich Historical Society, East Greenwich Environmental Club, as well as the East Greenwich Senior Committee services and activities.  There were several county services also including Gloucester County Senior Services, Health Services, Outreach programs and Division of Human and Special Services, as well as the Prosecutor for Elder Abuse and Financial Exploitation and the Gloucester County Library.

Several Senior related businesses gave our seniors valuable information: Amada Senior Care, Brain Health Partnership, Miracle Ear, Beacon Travel Companions, Friends Village, Senior Store, and AAA.  We had a few local businesses also, As You Wish and The Barn.

The churches of our community, Evangelical United Methodist, St. Peters, and Zion also participated. To those who helped make this event such a success, the East Greenwich Senior Committee thanks you all.

Did you miss out on this event? We look forward to having another fair next year.

Senior Art Show

The East Greenwich Senior Art Club held an Art Show at the Evangelical United Methodist Church in May.  Eighteen artists displayed amazing artwork in many different mediums, from watercolor, oil, acrylic, mixed media, colored pencils, beading, sculpture and more. There was even a display of augmented reality.

The talent from our area is impressive.

During the show, attendees had the opportunity to meet and speak with the artists and enjoy light refreshments.

The Art Club meets every Monday afternoon from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Evangelical Church. All are welcome.
