NO LOCAL TAX INCREASE IN WOOLWICH

WOOLWICH TWP. – There will be no local purpose tax increase called for in Woolwich Township’s 2026 budget. The budget was approved by the Township Committee on June 15.

The total 2026 Municipal Budget is $19.32 million. The capital improvement budget calls for police vehicles and equipment replacements, fire company equipment, public works equipment, and improvements to various streets and roads.

According to Deputy Mayor Mike Nocentino, the township’s local tax makes up approximately 17 percent of your yearly total tax bill. Nocentino said that 62 percent of your bill goes to the local school district budget. Taxes paid to Gloucester County account for approximately 21 percent of your bill. Nocentino stated that this means that 83 percent of your tax bill is not controlled by the township.
