MULLICA HILL — Pumpkin season is in full swing, and Mullica Hill is ready to celebrate fall in festive style!
Join us for the 54th Annual Fall Festival and Living History Weekend on Oct. 10 and 11. The festival will take place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This annual celebration brings community, family fun and local history to Main Street in Mullica Hill.
MH Events will have free, family-friendly activities, including a bounce house, pumpkin painting at Farm House Design and hands-on exhibits from the Edelman Fossil Park Museum.
In addition to local dining favorites such as Mademoiselle Macaron for high tea, Blueplate for a sit-down lunch, High St. Deli for sandwiches and Bella Grace Coffee and Cafe for a quick pick-me-up, visitors can enjoy food trucks lining the street. Live music, craft courtyards and entertainment will round out the perfect fall day.
Many shops will host open houses throughout the weekend, and guests are invited to stroll through Mullica Hill’s boutiques and antique shops. Farm House Design will celebrate its 26th birthday with special sales, refreshments, live music, giveaways, pumpkin painting, a bounce house and a second craft courtyard behind the shop at 41 S. Main St.
“The Fall Festival brings the community together to celebrate our town and share the history of our nation,” says Hazel Dilsaver, owner of MH Events.
Union and Confederate camps will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring displays and camp life demonstrations. Battles will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
As dusk falls, be sure not to miss the Ghastly Tales of the Civil War Tour, with 100 percent of proceeds benefiting education. This family-friendly history walk features stories from one of the darkest periods in our nation’s history, including wartime medical practices, candlelit fiddle playing and songs, an amputation demonstration and a nighttime cannon firing.
The tour runs Saturday night only. Tickets are $8 each and may be purchased by calling 609-685-6915 or through the event link on the Farm House Design Facebook page.
