Aug. 1: Officers were dispatched to a Bridgeport residence for a Burglary and Theft to a motor vehicle report. It was reported that overnight, someone broke a window and entered the victim’s vehicle, unlatched the hood, and stole the hood, valued at approximately $800. The value of the window is estimated at $300.
Aug. 1: Officers were dispatched to Hassett Express on Heron Drive for a Trespassing, Criminal Mischief, and Theft report. It was reported that overnight, someone entered the property and spray painted a box truck. The suspect also stole several wheels off the truck. The estimated cost of the damage is $1,000, and the estimated cost of the Theft is $2,200.
Aug. 4: Officers responded to Camping World on Heron Dr. for a Theft report. It was reported that overnight, someone removed the catalytic converter from one of their vehicles. The value of the theft is approximately $600.
Aug. 9: Officers responded to the Wawa on Center Square Rd for a report of an Assault. It was reported that the victim requested another customer keep their distance due to Covid-19 safety practices. After the victim left the store, the suspect came up from behind, hit the victim and fled the scene. Officers are attempting to identify suspects through security camera footage.
Aug. 13: Officers were dispatched to Mitsubishi on Center Square Road for a Theft report. It was reported that over the prior weekend, someone entered the lot, removing catalytic converters and other parts from several vehicles. Surveillance footage is being reviewed to develop a suspect. The estimated total value of the Theft is over $9,000.
Aug. 16: Officers responded to Uptown Bakeries on Eagle Court for a report of a fight between employees. The victim reported that after a verbal altercation with two employees, one suspect punched the victim, and the other suspect struck the victim over the head with a metal tray, with video surveillance confirming the victim’s account. The suspects were identified; however, they used false information to gain employment. Officers are still attempting to identify the suspects. The victim was sent to the hospital for injuries.
Aug. 17: Officers responded to Uptown Bakeries on Eagle Court for a Criminal Mischief report. It was reported that the same victim that was in a fight earlier at the facility, returned from the hospital and observed the windshield to his vehicle damaged. Video surveillance showed the same suspects damage the windshield. Charges will be signed pending the true identity of the suspects being obtained. The value of the windshield is approx. $500.
Aug. 20: Officers responded to Clemmer East on Pedricktown Road for a Theft report. It was reported that 32 Propane tanks were stolen from the facility sometime overnight. The value of the Theft is unknown at this time.
Aug. 24: Officers responded to the Holiday Inn on Pureland Drive for a Fraud complaint. It was reported that a male suspect attempted to rent a room with a credit card number. The subject was handed a key, but the charge was declined. The suspect left the area on a bicycle. Officers are attempting to identify the suspect through surveillance footage.
Aug. 25: Officers responded to Gandlg Construction on Rt 322 for a Theft complaint. It was reported that sometime overnight, someone stole a Blue Miller welding machine from the premises, valued at approximately $3,000.
Aug. 26: Officers were dispatched to Acme on Center Square Road for a Shoplifting report. It was reported that a black female entered the store and left with a cart full of unpaid items. Further investigation led to an identity of the female, who is a Penns Grove resident. Officers are still following up on the incident.
Aug. 29: Officers responded and checked on a suspicious motor vehicle in the parking lot of LiquorMart on Rt 322. During the investigation, Officers detected an odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. Field Sobriety Tests were given to the driver, a 47 year old male from Wilmington, DE. As a result of this investigation, the driver was charged with Driving Under the Influence and released to a family member.
Aug. 30: Officers responded to an Asbury Station Road residence for a Theft report. It was reported that someone entered onto the property and removed parts of a wagon, valued at $200.
Aug. 31: Officers responded to the Wawa on Center Square Road for a Motor Vehicle complaint. It was reported that the vehicle was driving reckless on I-295, exited the highway and pulled into the Wawa. As Officers arrived and investigated the vehicle and driver, they placed the driver, a 70 year old male from Paulsboro, under arrest for Driving Under the Influence, and multiple traffic warrants. The driver was charged with the DUI, released on his warrants, and released to a third party.
